Aniece Germain was formally sworn in as the Ward 2 member of the Cranston City Council on Monday, making history as the first Black woman and first Haitian-American to serve on the council. She was appointed by the council last week to fill the remainder of Paul McAuley’s term. Looking on are members of Germain’s family, General Treasurer Seth Magaziner and Mayor Allan Fung.
