Munga Honorable Takes Swipe At Vybz Kartel In New Song “Move On”

Published

on

It seems the advice from Munga Honorable’s 2018 track “Nah Mad” has faded into oblivion for some of the males in Jamaica. The artiste is back to deliver another dose in his new track “Move On,” which is part 2 to NAH MAD OVA NUH GYAL.

Music has always been a method for the public to comment or express their outcry for what is happening in society, and Munga Honorable’s track could not come at a better time. The track publicly condemns the killing and abuse of women.

While violence against women has always been one of the issues plaguing Jamaica, there has been an upsurge in the number of domestic abuse deaths at the hand of aggravated lovers. The reasons for the cases have ranged from females wanting to end a relationship for whatever reason or if they become unfaithful in their relationship.

Munga draws from the recently publicized breakup of Vybz Kartel and longtime girlfriend and baby mother Tanesha, as a means of bringing across his point. While many persons knew that the incarcerated DJ and “Shorty’ were having issues, the full breakup was solidified with the release of Vybz Kartel’s most recent album, To Tanesha. Kartel wears his heart on his sleeve in every track, confessing his love for her but also stating that they were obviously not meant to be.

The exact reference from Munga’s track goes, “Her next man a pick her up like a wiFi, now Shorty gone make Addi start cry, seet ya.” Munga also delivers a catchy and relatable chorus, “A no the end of the world so get yourself another girl and move on / A no every glisten a gold a no every glimmer a pearl so just move on … husband don’t murder the bride yout don’t choose suicide.”

This feels like another one from the hit factory for Munga, who has made quite a legendary comeback to the dancehall scene.

Ne-Yo has confirmed rumors that he and his wife, Crystal Smith, are ending their marriage after nearly five years.

The “Miss Independent” singer sat down with former adult film star Alexis Texas for her podcast, Private Talk, to discuss details of his life and career, including the revelation that his relationship is coming to an end. Interestingly, while the R&B singer was shedding some light on his pending divorce, his estranged wife, Crystal Smith, was spotted out with Black Ink Crew: Chicago’s star Ryan Henry.

Ne-Yo revealed, “It’s slowly but surely becoming public knowledge that myself and my wife have decided to go ahead and get a divorce…Long story short I’m never going to talk bad about her, I’m not that person. You know, there’s nothing bad to say about her, she’s a fantastic woman. She’s the mother of my children, and she’s always gonna be that, and I will always respect her.”

Ne-Yo and Crystal Smith have two children together, Shaffer Smith Jr. and Roman Alexander-Raj Smith, in addition to Ne-Yo’s two other children from a previous relationship. It was only back in 2018 when Crystal gave birth to their youngest child, and Ne-Yo was answering questions from the media about trying for another girl, but now it seems the relationship has unraveled under mysterious circumstances.

Ne-Yo vaguely commented on the circumstances of the breakup, saying, “Long story short, she’s got demons just like everybody else, just like me. We realized that our demons don’t mesh, and until both of us get ahold of our personal demons, we realized it’s gonna be difficult for us to stay married.”

Meanwhile, Crystal has been spotted seemingly enjoying the single life, last seen partying it up with her friends in Chicago over this last weekend. Videos posted to Crystal’s Instagram story featured her grabbing drinks with “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” star Ryan Henry. Around the same time, Ne-Yo was seen enjoying lunch with some guy friends in Los Angeles, and later inviting some unknown women to join their table. It seems both Ne-yo and Crystal are trying to move on with their lives.

Ishawna is back with another steamy new single for her fans. “Come Inside,” which was dropped off over the weekend, just before the love day celebration, is a TJ Records Production. Her recent release is very much detailed with strong sexual annotations she used to taunt her lover. I hope the lovers had a field day on V-day with this hot release.

The track finds Ishawna’s showcasing her signature vocals over a slow dancehall beat. “Mi Nah lie yu have it loc / Fi yu, mi wi climb any mountain top / As yu mek eye contact / Mi baggy drop, push it in deep and bruise mi throat back,” she sings. The female diva is famous for her X-rated sexually charged themes when it comes on to her music. “Come Inside” is no different, as it exemplified what Ishawna is known for.

In her previous raunchy single, “Want It,” Ishawna asked to be handled roughly, now after wanting it so badly, Ms. Legendary is asking him to “Come Inside.” The dancehall princess posted a sneak peek of her behind the scene shoot on Instagram, which got fans excited and eager for the sexy diva’s new music video, “Come Inside.”

Ishawna seems to be working well with TJ Records, another sizzling and sexy hit, and fans look forward to Ms. Legendary, who is also famous for going on the low key then emerges with something fire. Ishawna has come a long way in Dancehall and still managed to consistently maintain her presence year after year.

Reggae legend Freddie McGregor became the first recipient of the “Black History Month meets Reggae Icon Award,” which was presented to him during a Reggae Icons awards ceremony, in Miramar, Florida recently.

“I feel really honored to be the recipient of this award… It was a really special evening,” the Big Ship artiste said in an interview with the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper. The Reggae Icons awards ceremony was held at the Miramar Cultural Banquet Centre, under the patronage of Jamaica’s Entertainment Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange.

“I just sat there soaking it all up, and it hit me that if I were dead I wouldn’t get to experience this moment,” McGregor said in outlining how awed he was by the moment.

McGregor also expressed satisfaction that Reggae Month is now fully recognized, with a myriad of quality activities throughout the period.

“When I looked and saw the amount of things happening for Reggae Month, all I could say is, bwoy, this year mek the ting look like Jamaica really have something going on in the month of February… This is a good look,” he said.

In her address, Grange, who is a former manager of Shabba Ranks, said it is important for all to play a part in the enhancement of Reggae, particularly at a time when the United Nations is commemorating the International Decade for People of African Descent.

The years 2015 to 2024, was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in a Resolution as the International Decade for People of African Descent on 23 December 2013. The theme of the commemoration is “People of African descent: recognition, justice and development.”

Grange said within the Diaspora, the efforts have been placed on engaging stakeholders responsible for the promotion of shows and events, to enable Reggae music to continue providing opportunities for income generation, wealth creation, and the promotion of Black Pride.

The Minister also said her Ministry is putting plans in place to extend activities to New York, Washington, Los Angeles, the UK, and Toronto for next year’s staging of Reggae Month.

Tupac Appears In Supreme Hologram Ad, Fans Not Feeling It

Published

By

Supreme is paying tribute to one of the most iconic figures in hip-hop, but it is receiving mixed reactions from fans.

The popular streetwear brand, Supreme, has released a teaser for its new collection, featuring the hologram of the legendary Tupac Shakur. The short ad, which was posted on Supreme’s Instagram on Sunday, depicts Tupac’s hologram wearing Supreme boxers below his shirtless torso and peaking above his 90’s style baggy pants. The hologram dramatically arrives on stage before grabbing the mic to perform “Hail Mary”. The hologram is the same version of ‘Pac famously debuted at Coachella in 2012 during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s set, and was used to perform “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted”.

The teaser received mix reviews from fans, some of whom thought the use of 2Pac’s image was disrespectful. One commenter wrote, “This is wrong, using the death of a person to advertise your latest product”, while another chimed in, “Tfw you put Tupac in some undies for clout”. However, others saw it as the ultimate tribute to the greatest rapper of all time, with one fan commenting, “Supreme brought Tupac back to life.” The new Supreme collection is said to include a t-shirt featuring the hologram and may be dropping before next weekend.

While there is rightfully a debate about whether it is morally sound to use ‘Pac’s image for profit, there was also mixed feelings about the creation of his hologram to begin with. However, it should be noted that Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were some of ‘Pac’s closest friends during his short and explosive life, and their willingness to perform with a hologram version of the rapper may reveal what Tupac would have approved. Shakur frequently talked about his legacy and his “resurrection”, often predicting his untimely death.

It’s possible that the use of his image in pop culture nearly 25 years after his death is exactly what he had envisioned, but his willingness to be used for the profit of a large fashion company that has been linked to war-profiteering seems less likely.

Nick Cannon Says Marriage Is Like Jumping Out Of A Plane, Will Never Do It Again

Published

By

Nick Cannon may be a single man for the rest of his life.

Nick Cannon continues to stand by his decision to never remarry after his high-profile marriage to Mariah Carey ended in 2016. The rapper, actor, and host talked about his commitment to the single life on his radio show, Nick Cannon Mornings. Explaining why marriage isn’t for him after agreeing to go on a blind date with one of his listeners as part of the show, he elaborated on his reasoning behind this lifestyle choice, saying, “My mindset has changed. I have done that. I don’t like doing things that I am not good at…If you jumped out of a plane one time and it did not work out—you would not do it again, would you?”

Nick Cannon married Mariah Carey, who he often referred to as his dream girl and claimed to have crushed on since he was a kid, in 2008. The couple later welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe in 2011. While they eventually filed for divorce in 2014, the two celebrities had an on-and-off relationship for two years before finally ending it for good in 2016. Cannon also recently mentioned that if he was ever to consider marriage again, it would only be for another shot with Mariah.

Despite admitting his inability to maintain a marriage, Nick still refers to himself as “a hopeless romantic”. He disagrees with any accusations of womanizing, even those coming from his children. He continued his commentary on his love life, saying, “It’s the funniest thing, my kids call me a player. I was like, ‘Who taught you that word? Who’s been talking to you?’ And [Moroccan’s] like, ‘Dad you can’t be a player forever.’ I’m like, this is the worst.”

Nick added that he is looking forward to having “a real moment” with someone instead of only spending time with women in search of a potential marriage partner.
