A specialised public lecture was hosted by Caribbean Maritime University (CMU), entitled ‘Ocean Heath…Ocean Wealth’ for maritime industry stakeholders, in an aim to raise awareness about the blue economy. The presentation was delivered by Norwegian native Sturla Henriksen, special advisor to the United Nations Global Compact on Ocean, during a recent visit to Jamaica. This followed on the heel of an official visit to Norway led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, of which CMU president, Professor Fritz Pinnock was a part. Here Henriksen addresses the gathering, which includes (from left, front row) Michael Lodge, secretary general, International Seabed Authority; Erik Giercksky, head of the UN Global Compact Business Action Platform for Oceans; and Fritz Pinnock, President CMU.
