KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Constitutional Court on Friday ruled that the National Identification and Registration Act has no legal effect and is to be removed from the statutes of Jamaica.

On the crime scene, it was reported on Tuesday that reputed Klansman gang leader Tesha Miller has filed a lawsuit against Television Jamaica claiming that he was defamed by the media house during its primetime newscast on March 19.

A correctional officer fatally shot his estranged wife before turning the gun on himself in front of their 12-year-old daughter on Waltham Park Road in St Andrew Wednesday morning. It was later revealed that woman, who was also a correctional officer, was a few weeks pregnant.

Then on Thursday morning, the police reported another incident in which a woman was attacked by her common-law husband, who later took his life. The woman was admitted to hospital in serious condition.
