Jamaica’s Chief of Defence Staff inducted in International Hall of Fame

THE United States Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) recently inducted three military leaders into its International Hall of Fame, at the Lewis and Clark Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Officers honoured were Lieutenant General Rocky R Meade, Chief of Defence Staff, Jamaica Defence Force, General Bari del Valle Sosa, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of Argentina, and General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army.

Meade was recognised for a myriad of accomplishments achieved as part of his service to the JDF and people of Jamaica. Before being appointed Chief of Defence Staff in December 2016, he conceptualised and implemented a number of project,s including the Flight Safety Programme, the Jamaican Military Museum, the JDF Language Lab, the JDF Farm, the JDF Technical Training Institute, the Accreditation Project, the Caribbean Grand Strategy Seminar, the All Arms Magazine and The Moneague Papers.

Mead holds a Masters of Military Arts and Science degree from the US Army Command and General Staff College and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam. The US Embassy’s senior defence attach, Lieutenant Colonel Pablo Raggio, accompanied him to the ceremony.
