1. Ex-cop gunned down at Cash Pot outlet

A retired policeman was shot dead by unknown assailants at a Cash Pot outlet where he was employed as a security guard in Falmouth, Trelawny yesterday evening.

2. Hanna concerned about closure of Jamaica’s embassy in Venezuela

Opposition Spokesperson on foreign affairs and foreign trade, Lisa Hanna, says she has taken serious note of yesterday’s statement from Portfolio Minister Kamina Johnson-Smith about the temporary closure of Jamaica’s embassy in Caracas, Venezuela.

3. $2 billion to renovate 100 police stations

One hundred police stations are to be renovated at a cost of $2 billion under a two-year rehabilitation project being funded by the National Housing Trust (NHT).

4. Three J’cans charged with importing ganja to Cayman

Three Jamaican men appeared in Court here on Wednesday all charged with importing approximately 900 pounds of marijuana.

The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) says it conducted a pilot of the electronic poll book at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Guild of Students elections which were held yesterday.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness this afternoon left the island for Florida, United States, where he will attend the Caribbean Leaders’ Summit.

7. Crime Stop offers $200k reward for info on murder of Mandeville Hindu priest

Crime Stop is offering a $200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and charge of those involved in the 2017 murder of a Hindu priest in Mandeville.

8. Accused baby thief to return to court April 18

A bail application is expected to be made next month for the woman accused of snatching a day-old baby from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital on January 9.

9. Wi-Fi service to be launched at Emancipation Park

Public Wi-Fi service is scheduled to be launched at Emancipation Park in New Kingston, tomorrow, Friday, March 22.

10. Grange hails ‘great’ performance of Special Olympians

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange has described as “a great display” the performance by Jamaica’s team to the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi.
