THE Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Jamaica Branch, yesterday celebrated Commonwealth Day 2019 under the theme ‘A Connected Commonwealth’. The day was observered with ‘Commonwealth Consultations’ at Denham Town Primary School and Vauxhall High School, which was aimed at introducing youth tothe Commonwealth to the youth to introduce them to its values and work in their everyday lives.

The youngsters presented speeches from the head of the Commonwealth, The Queen, as well as Jamaica’s prime minister and leader of the parliamentary Opposition.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the formation of the Commonwealth configured with a richly diverse family of nations that maintain old ties and new links to enable co-operation towards social, political and economic development.
