MANDEVILLE, Manchester- The Manchester Golf Club on Sunday, February 24, came alive with the annual spoken word event, Poetry In Motion.

The event had a range of performers, including Mutabaruka, Professor Frederick Hickling, Professor Mervyn Morris, international talent Dr Rhys Trimble from Wales, and the organiser, dub poet Yasus Afari.

The recent event was in its 16th staging and was also a celebration of the centenary year of folklorist, Miss Lou.

Two organisations that benefited from proceeds were the Manchester-based charity Friends in Need, and the Haile Clacken Bipolar Foundation, which was launched in St Elizabeth in 2018.
