KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a woman who is wanted for several crimes stemming from her allegedly posing as a medical doctor in western Jamaica.

The woman has been identified as Alicia Patrice England, however, she is known to call herself England McCrane or Dr McCrane, the police said. She is wanted for breaches of the Medical Act and the Larceny Act.

In one case now under investigation by the Fraud Squad, England is alleged to have treated a two-year-old patient, fraudulently wrote prescriptions, and collected hundreds of thousands of dollars as payment.

According to the police, several people in St James are believed to have been a victim of the woman’s scam, and investigators say they suspect she has moved her operations to the Corporate Area.

Members of the public who may know the whereabouts of England are being asked to contact detectives at the Fraud Squad by calling 876- 922-2374/948-5953, Crime Stop at 311 or 811.

In the meantime, the police are urging pharmacists to maintain vigilance and not to dispense medications prescribed by ‘Dr England McCrane’.
