Prime Minister Andrew Holness left the island yesterday afternoon for the 30th Intersessional Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) in Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis.

Jamaica House said Holness will address the meeting on Tuesday.

Of the scheduled engagements, Prime Minister Holness and other regional heads will meet with the secretary general of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Dr Mukhisa Kituyi.

Holness will also hold bilateral talks with President of Estonia Kerti Kalijulaid. The two leaders will discuss the digital society and best practices from Estonia on the implementation of a national identification system.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, senior officials of the ministries of foreign affairs, transport and mining, as well as press secretary, Naomi Francis, form the core of the prime minister’s delegation.

The prime minister, Jamaica House said, will also meet with members of the Jamaican Diaspora in St Kitts and Nevis.

Minister of National Security Dr Horace Chang will be in charge of the Government in Holness’s absence.
