President of the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ) and senior vice-president, Group HR and Corporate Services at Sagicor Group Jamaica, Karl Williams (right) greets Dr Kevin Goulbourne, mental health director at the Ministry of Health at a conference hosted by the HRMAJ and Essential Medical Services, under the theme “Optimal Productivity, Winning Minds — Creating a Culture of Mental Well-
Being”. Williams in his welcome and opening remarks spoke to the HRMAJ’s commitment to mental well-being in the workplace and the vision of the HRMAJ to rid the stigma associated with mental health illnesses. Dr Goulbourne presented on the topic
“Unleashing Your Organisation’s Potential to Flourish”. Other featured speakers were Dr Ijah Thompson, workplace wellness practitioner, who presented on the topic “Workplace Wellness Programme for Mental Well-Being, while Dr Makesha Evans, organisational psychologist, presented on “Staying on the Pulse of Your Organisation”. Dr Pearnell Bell, clinical psychologist, in his presentation, spoke on “Creating a Blueprint for a Culture of
Mental Well-Being”, and Dr Nathan Charles, executive coach, who was the keynote speaker, presented on “Coaching for Success and Optimal Productivity”. The conference was held Wednesday at the Knutford Court Hotel in Kingston.
