BRYAN’S BAY, Portland — Fishermen Donovan Brooks and Clebe Passley landed a marlin weighing over 700 pounds yesterday morning off the coast of Manchioneal.

“This marlin was caught between two banks — Grabler and Henry Homes — off the coast of Manchioneal this morning between 9:23 and 9:47,” Brooks told the Jamaica Observer.

Displaying the bait he used to catch the marlin, Brooks said he was going to keep it as it is working.

“We had a very hard fight as my partner is not that experienced,” Brooks said, adding that the marlin was fighting and he “had to be steadying the boat” and fighting the marlin to land it.

“The experience was good and I am happy I caught him. If my partner was experienced, we would have taken him in earlier,” Brooks said, smiling while celebrating with a stout.
