The St James woman who is accused of stealing a baby in the parking lot at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James last Friday has been formally charged by the police.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness is calling on players in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry to start shifting from call centre operations to higher-value services.

3. Portland child confirmed dead from dengue

A child from Portland has been confirmed dead from the dengue disease. Portland’s Medical Officer of Health Dr Sharon Lewis made the confirmation at the monthly meeting of the Portland Municipal Cooperation held at the Portland Municipal Chamber today.

4. PNP attempting to exploit dengue fever challenge facing Jamaica, says JLP

A police constable assigned to the St James Police Division was yesterday slapped with lottery scamming and other charges after an associate of his was nabbed at the Sangster International Airport (SIA) with pictures relating to lottery scamming activities on a phone.

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Audley Shaw says the report on the rationalisation of sugar lands has been completed.

7. Norovirus outbreak sickens 277 on Oasis of the Seas cruise

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas is returning to a Florida port a day early and giving passengers full refunds of their fare after 277 guests and crew members were hit with an outbreak of Norovirus as it sailed to Jamaica.

8. Officials inspecting Sabina Park after pitch deemed unsafe

Match officials are set to make a second pitch inspection at 12:50 pm in the fourth-round West Indies four-day cricket match between Jamaica Scorpions and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at Sabina Park.

9. 18-y-o shot dead in Hanover bar

Detectives assigned to the Lucea Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) in Hanover are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in his community on Tuesday.

10. Man killed, firearm seized in east Kingston confrontation with cops

The police are reporting that a man was fatally shot during a confrontation with lawmen on Norman Avenue, Kingston 13 on Tuesday.
